As India confronts an alarming rise in lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disorders, Madhavbaug—a trailblazer in Ayurveda-based cardiac care—has joined forces with the Ministry of Ayush to advance preventive healthcare through yoga. This strategic collaboration aligns with the upcoming 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2025), scheduled for June 21, with Madhavbaug actively supporting state-wide initiatives led by the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Mumbai.
India currently bears the world’s highest burden of cardiac and diabetic patients, with over 77 million individuals battling diabetes and cardiovascular diseases accounting for one in every four deaths nationwide. The partnership seeks to pivot the healthcare narrative from reactive treatment to proactive prevention by positioning yoga as a frontline defense against lifestyle-related illnesses.
In a recent highlight, Madhavbaug Khopoli Hospital hosted a successful yoga event for 100 heart patients as part of the IDY celebrations. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush, the event was graced by Dr. Rohit Sane, CEO and MD of the hospital. The initiative emphasized holistic well-being through the integration of yoga and Ayurveda, eliciting enthusiastic participation and demonstrating the hospital’s commitment to fostering health and resilience among cardiac patients.
Under the Ministry’s umbrella of ten signature events—including Yoga Sangam, Yoga Unplugged, and Hatha Yoga—Madhavbaug will spearhead yoga-centric awareness and wellness camps across Maharashtra. These camps will specifically target high-risk groups via community outreach and supervised yoga practices at Madhavbaug centers.
“For more than a decade, Madhavbaug has championed yoga not merely as a cultural heritage but as a clinically validated intervention for cardiac health. We are proud to collaborate with the Ministry of Ayush to bring this transformative message to every corner of Maharashtra,” stated Dr. Sane.
With a robust network of over 350 centers nationwide, Madhavbaug stands as India’s foremost integrative healthcare provider specializing in non-invasive cardiac care, diabetes management, and Ayurvedic rehabilitation. Its active participation in IDY 2025 reinforces its unwavering commitment to embedding preventive healthcare practices at the core of India’s health strategy, in collaboration with national institutions.
