Yoga Bridge Offers Free Class to Raise Awareness and Support for Cancer Patients

This weekend, Yoga Bridge, a nonprofit dedicated to providing yoga programs for individuals affected by cancer, will host a special event at The Shops at Highland Village. In partnership with the popular jewelry retailer Kendra Scott, the event will feature a free yoga class and an opportunity to shop for a cause, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to support the nonprofit’s mission.

The class, which is open to all skill levels, will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Kendra Scott store, located at 1500 Cottonwood Creek, Suite 180, in The Shops at Highland Village. According to a press release from Yoga Bridge, the event aims to bring together the local community to raise awareness of the benefits of yoga for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

A Partnership for a Cause: Kendra Gives Back

Yoga Bridge has been chosen as the beneficiary of the Kendra Gives Back program, an initiative in which Kendra Scott stores support local nonprofits through a portion of their sales. During the event, 20% of all purchases made at the Kendra Scott store will be donated to Yoga Bridge. This collaboration not only helps to financially support the organization’s programs but also highlights the importance of integrative health practices like yoga for individuals battling cancer.

The event will include more than just yoga; attendees are encouraged to stay for refreshments and a shopping experience that contributes to a worthy cause. The combination of mindfulness, movement, and philanthropy is expected to draw a supportive crowd, especially from those who are passionate about health, wellness, and community engagement.

“We are thrilled to partner with Kendra Scott for this event,” said a spokesperson from Yoga Bridge. “It’s not just about raising funds; it’s about raising awareness of how yoga can help those affected by cancer. We hope to see many new faces at the class, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our mission with the community.”

Yoga Bridge: A Decade of Support for Cancer Patients

Founded in 2011, Yoga Bridge has been offering free and low-cost yoga classes specifically designed for cancer patients, survivors, and their families. The nonprofit organization focuses on providing therapeutic yoga that helps alleviate the physical and emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Yoga, with its gentle movements and focus on breath and relaxation, has been shown to help cancer patients reduce stress, improve physical function, and manage symptoms such as fatigue, pain, and anxiety. For many, it offers a sense of control and peace during a difficult and often overwhelming time.

“Yoga is a powerful tool for healing, not just physically but mentally and emotionally,” said a representative from Yoga Bridge. “For cancer patients and survivors, the benefits of yoga go beyond the mat. It’s about finding balance and strength when everything feels uncertain.”

Yoga Bridge provides specialized classes tailored to the needs of those in treatment or recovery. In addition to physical movement, the classes incorporate meditation and breathing exercises designed to support mental and emotional health. The nonprofit’s services are available to both patients and their families, recognizing that a cancer diagnosis impacts the entire support system, not just the individual.

The Growing Role of Yoga in Cancer Care

Integrative health practices like yoga have gained increasing recognition in recent years as complementary therapies for cancer patients. Studies have shown that yoga can help reduce treatment-related side effects, improve quality of life, and even enhance immune function. Many cancer treatment centers now offer yoga as part of their holistic care programs.

Organizations like Yoga Bridge play a vital role in making these benefits accessible to more people, particularly those who may not have the resources to pay for specialized wellness programs. By offering free or low-cost classes, Yoga Bridge ensures that cancer patients and survivors can access the healing power of yoga regardless of their financial situation.

“Yoga Bridge has been a lifeline for so many people in our community,” said a regular participant in the program. “Going through cancer treatment can be incredibly isolating, and these classes provide not only physical relief but also a sense of connection and community. It’s a reminder that you’re not alone in this journey.”

The Kendra Scott Connection: Shopping for a Cause

Kendra Scott’s Kendra Gives Back program is known for its dedication to supporting charitable organizations through events and fundraising initiatives. By partnering with nonprofits like Yoga Bridge, the jewelry brand helps raise both funds and awareness for causes that are making a difference in local communities.

For every purchase made at the Highland Village store on Saturday, 20% of the sales will go directly to Yoga Bridge, helping to fund its ongoing programs. The funds raised will allow the nonprofit to continue offering free and affordable yoga classes to those who need them most.

“We are proud to support Yoga Bridge through our Kendra Gives Back initiative,” said a spokesperson from Kendra Scott. “At Kendra Scott, we believe in the power of giving back to our communities, and we are honored to partner with such an impactful organization. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our customers to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a great shopping experience.”

An Invitation to the Community

As Yoga Bridge and Kendra Scott prepare for this special event, they are inviting the local community to come together for a morning of mindfulness, movement, and support. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a complete beginner, the class is open to all, and participants are encouraged to bring friends and family. Yoga mats will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.

For those who are unable to attend the class but still want to contribute, the Kendra Scott store will accept online and phone orders during the event, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to support Yoga Bridge.

“It’s going to be a wonderful event,” said one of Yoga Bridge’s instructors. “We hope people will come out, enjoy the class, and then treat themselves to some beautiful jewelry, knowing that their purchase is helping cancer patients and survivors. It’s a win-win.”

As the weekend approaches, anticipation for the event is growing, and Yoga Bridge is hopeful that the community will rally around their cause. Through this partnership with Kendra Scott, the nonprofit aims to continue its mission of providing healing, hope, and support to those affected by cancer.

The free yoga class will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by refreshments and shopping. All proceeds from Kendra Scott purchases made during the event will go towards supporting Yoga Bridge’s programs for cancer patients and survivors.
