Madhavbaug, a leader in Ayurveda-based cardiac care, has partnered with the Ministry of Ayush to launch a yoga-centered preventive health campaign across Maharashtra. This initiative coincides with the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2025) on June 21.
India is facing a growing burden of lifestyle diseases, with 77 million people affected by diabetes and cardiovascular conditions accounting for one in four deaths. The partnership aims to change the focus from treatment to prevention by promoting yoga as a primary tool for health.
At Madhavbaug’s Khopoli Hospital, a yoga session was held for 100 heart patients. The session, led by hospital director Dr. Rohit Sane and organised with Ayush, featured clinically proven yoga poses to support heart health. This highlighted yoga’s important role in holistic patient care.
The collaboration includes wellness camps across Maharashtra as part of Ayush’s ten signature IDY events, such as Yoga Sangam, Yoga Unplugged, and Hatha Yoga. High-risk groups will receive guided yoga sessions at Madhavbaug centers. The public can register for these events at yoga.ayush.gov.in/yoga-sangam.
“For more than ten years, Madhavbaug has promoted yoga as a clinically backed intervention for heart health. We are proud to expand this message throughout the state,” said Dr. Sane, CEO and MD of Madhavbaug.
By combining Ayurveda expertise with government support, this initiative aims to ease the impact of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. It demonstrates how traditional practices can strengthen modern preventive healthcare.
